THE NATURE OF GOD SEVEN: SUBMISSION

Jesus has a love-slave’s spirit, needing no title or status, demonstrating complete submission to the Father. Jesus, who in the form of God... as God the Son, was equal to God, willfully took the form of a bondservant... a slave to God, to fulfill the Father’s will at Golgotha. It was in this sacrificial act that God highly exalted Him, making Him both Lord and Savior, “that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Jesus is not just our “Savior”, He is our “Lord”, and the only proper response to “Lord” is “slave”, for we are love-slaves of God who purchased full rights to our ownership with the precious blood His Son. The road to full adoption, sonship and unequivocal participation in the family of God, begins with willful slavery... submission to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Without submission to Christ’s Lordship we will never be adopted... with submission we will become divine family, and forever love-slaves at heart...
It is said there are four things... four virtues, which sum up a love-slave’s heart for his master: Love, Obedience, Passion, and Sacrifice. Jesus demonstrated these four virtues on the Cross that God’s blood bought saints... His slaves, might follow in His footsteps. The love-slaves call is to take up their cross and follow Jesus in single minded devotion, needing nothing but Him... wanting only to please God... bring a twinkle to Daddy’s eyes...
In submission to Lordship we embrace the first and greatest commandment, becoming love-slaves of the Most High God, and we find true freedom... the freedom imparted by the Son. Freedom is not doing what we like, it is liking as we should, as we were designed by God to like, and doing that. Jesus came to rescue us in the form of a slave, not to offer us freedom from slavery, but to teach us a new divine slavery that is truly freeing. Slavery to God with its total denial of personal freedom represents for the saints the only pathway to true freedom, freedom from sin, guilt, and condemnation, and freedom to obey and please God. When we confess Christ as our Lord and Savior, we are simultaneously confessing our Self as His slave. Slaves have two duties, Obey and Please...
AS WE BEHOLD HIM...
WE BECOME LIKE HIM...
